Mobile Phone Engineer - £9.00 - £11.00 per hour

Role and Responsibilities

As a Mobile Phone Engineer, your main responsibility will be to troubleshoot, repair and test mobile devices for the production of mobile phones for resale back into multiple global sales routes.

You will:

  • Testing and diagnostics prior to repair
  • Repair and device reset according to manufacturer specifications
  • Quality Assurance testing prior to handset sign off
  • Ability to flash handsets for software updates as required

Essential Experience

  • Mobile phones – various models
  • Repairs of handsets i.e. LCD’s
  • BGA Controller Chip Structure and Design
  • Water Damage Phone Troubleshooting and Repair
  • Physical damage repair and troubleshooting techniques
  • Blackberry Trackball, Trackball Dome and Trackpad replacement
  • Replace LCD, Ribbon flex cable, broken lens, Camera & touch screen glass digitiser
  • Samsung and Note Glass Lens Repair, accurate removal and installing new glass lens utilising proper techniques, tools and heating equipment
  • Circuit board block diagram layout architecture – For Component Repairs
  • RF Shielding removal using proper heating element
  • Phone not powering on – No Power
  • No network signal or unstable signal
  • Phone automatically shuts off – Power Cycling
  • Replace On board Sim Connector, Switches, Battery connector, SD memory connector, Vibrator, Flex Cable Switch, Multi pin Data Port, LCD plug-in connector and Charging Port
  • Repair missing on-board components, circuit bridging & Jumpering techniques

Working hours

Monday to Friday 09:00 – 18:00, 40 hours per week with the option paid overtime.


Depending on your experience and qualification, the starting salary is £9 to £11 per hour (£18,720 – £22,880).

Applicants should have the right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance to Waltham Abbey.
